The city of Athens takes it name from Athena, the Greek Goddess of wisdom and knowledge. It seems only fitting then that is also the city that created democracy and where the great thinkers Plato and Aristotle were born.

Ancient Greece’s best known temple ‘The Acropolis’ is definitely for many people one of the highlights of their holidays in Greece. The Acropolis contains several temples and the most important of these is the Parthenon, which is dedicated to the Goddess Athena.
